Junk Removal on the Near Southside
The Near Southside is the most architecturally distinctive part of the city and the one where the alley usually beats the street. Early-century bungalows, a dense restaurant strip along Magnolia, and the medical district all in a few square miles.

Use the alley
Most of the Near Southside was laid out with rear alley access, and on these streets the alley is frequently the better approach — narrow front driveways, cars parked both sides, and mature trees over the street.
The housing is largely early twentieth-century: craftsman bungalows, prairie-style homes and small frame houses, most without an attached garage and many with a detached one at the back of the lot.
That means longer carries and no garage as a staging area, which is worth allowing for when a job is sized. It also means genuinely solid old furniture, which is heavier than its modern equivalent.
Magnolia and the medical district
Alongside the residential streets, the Near Southside carries two distinct commercial markets. Magnolia Avenue and the surrounding blocks turn over restaurants and small retail regularly, which produces fit-out and strip-out work.
The medical district generates its own steady stream of office and clinical-adjacent furniture — waiting room seating, reception joinery, treatment furniture. Clinical and regulated waste is not something we handle; furniture and fittings are.
- Restaurant and bar fit-outs along Magnolia
- Small retail unit turnovers
- Medical office furniture, not clinical waste
- Out-of-hours work where a street is busy

FAQ
Near Southside — common questions
- Should you come to the street or the alley?
- Usually the alley, on the residential streets. Tell us it is there when you book and the crew will route to whichever gives the shorter carry.
- My house has no garage. Is that a problem?
- No, it just means there is no staging space, so the carry goes straight from the room to the truck. Common across the whole district and entirely routine.
- Do you work with restaurants on Magnolia?
- Yes — fit-outs, strip-outs and closures. Kitchen equipment needs gas, water and refrigerant disconnected by the appropriate licensed trade first.
