Shelving and Rack Removal in Fort Worth

Shelving comes out easily. Pallet racking is a structure, and taking down a structure is a different question — one where the honest answer is sometimes that you need a specialist rather than a junk crew.

Where the line is, and why it matters

Boltless shelving, light-duty industrial shelving, retail gondolas and free-standing units come apart with hand tools and go on a truck. That is straightforward work and we do a lot of it.

Tall braced pallet racking is different. It is an engineered structure, frequently anchored to the slab, sometimes tied into a mezzanine or a sprinkler layout, and taking it down in the wrong order can drop a bay. People are seriously injured doing this every year.

So the honest position is that we assess it from photographs first and tell you which category yours falls into. If it needs a specialist rack dismantler, we will say so rather than taking the booking and improvising on the day.

What we take down and what we do not

Retail gondolas and wall standardsStandard work.

Tall or braced pallet rackingSpecialist dismantler. We will refer rather than attempt it.
Mezzanine structuresStructural work. Not something we take down.

Send photographs, including one from a distance

A close-up of a connector tells us the system. A shot from across the floor tells us the height, the bracing and whether it is tied to anything.

Both together let us give a straight answer before anyone is booked, which is considerably better than a crew arriving and declining the job.

  • One photo of a connector or upright base
  • One from a distance showing full height
  • Note anything bolted to the slab
  • Note anything tied to sprinklers or a mezzanine

FAQ

Shelving and Rack Removal in Fort Worth — common questions

Will you take down our pallet racking?
Light, low-bay and free-standing systems often, yes. Tall or braced systems need a specialist rack dismantler, and we will tell you which yours is from photographs rather than deciding on the day.
Why will you not do the tall racking?
Because it is an engineered structure and dismantling it in the wrong sequence can collapse a bay. That is a specialist trade for good reason, and it is not one we hold ourselves out as.
Does the racking have any value?
Complete, current-model systems in good condition sometimes have a resale market. Mixed, damaged or obsolete systems generally do not. Worth checking before disposing of a large complete system.
Can you clear shelving while the site is operating?
Yes, working to a defined area and your traffic plan. Empty the bays first if you can — it saves time and avoids handling stock we should not be touching.
