A kitchen cabinet run is mostly air in boxes. That makes it light to carry and disproportionately expensive in truck space — a set of uppers, lowers and an island can occupy a third of a load while weighing very little.
Where they have been removed carefully and are still assembled, they load reasonably efficiently. Where they have been demolished in place, the resulting mixed pile of particleboard, door fronts and countertop fragments takes considerably more room.
